I finally finished The Book Thief, and WOW. It was spectacular.
"Imagine smiling after a slap in the face. Then think of doing it twenty-four hours a day.
That was the business of hiding a Jew." (pg 211)

That quotation reminds me of Luke 6:29 - "If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also."

Oh, the lengths we'll go to follow what is good, right, and holy.
